June 23: Tasting the History of Gelato

$35.00

Eat your way through the history of gelato in this deliciously informative class! We’ll start with a sorbet, first developed by the Persians in the sixth century. Then we’ll try a Crema gelato like the ones invented by architect Bernardo Buontalenti in Renaissance Florence. We’ll learn about modern gelato technology with a quick tour of our gelato kitchen and a tasting of Italian chocolate chip gelato, known as Stracciatella, developed in 1961 in Bergamo, Italy. And we’ll finish with a taste of some more modern innovations in gelato like Kinder Egg and Cookies and Cream. Ages 13+
